Mat — Nice to have, but not totally necessary if you have the right type of flooring to practice on. If you don’t have a mat, try to find a space with soft wood flooring. Carpet is challenging during standing / balancing postures and tile flooring may cause you to slip. Soft wood flooring or a space with several foam tiles would be best if you do not have a mat.
Blocks — large books that are the same height, solid boxes that can support your body weight, depending on what height is needed, perhaps even a low coffee table or sturdy chair.
Strap — belt, robe tie, towel
Bolster — firm couch cushions or body pillows (I like to use my patio furniture cushions as they are extra firm and supportive)
Towel / Several towels / Beach towel / Blanket — can be used as a strap, extra cushion for under the knees, many people enjoy sitting on a thick blanket or several rolled up towels for extra cushion as well as to help maintain a seated posture even with tight hips.
Chair — can be used to help balance in standing postures, support (like when a block might be used), or an entire practice may be done seated in a chair if sitting on the floor is not an option.
**A sturdy chair should be used, ideally one with a flat seat and no arm rests**
Wall — can be used to help balance in standing postures, support while seated, and useful for inversions.
